PROMPT

PROMPT is an acronym for PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets.

PROMPT, provided by a PROMPT-trained clinician, is a tactle-kinesthetic approach that can be used with children as young as 6 months. It is most commonly used with children who have articulation issues (difficulty producing specific sounds), motor speech disorders (such as apraxia of speech and dysarthria), and children who are nonverbal. PROMPT has also been proven to benefit children with cerebral palsy, pervasive developmental disorders, brain injury, and autism.
